Painted Plexiglas better than Stained-Glass

You can hang or mount it; rest it on most window seals inside or outside a window.   It will cut out the glare from extreme light such as sunlight. Placing it outside a window will reduce both the light and the heat of the sun.   Placing it inside creates a beautiful translucent stained glass look that is a semi-obstructive barrier through which you can see out, but is difficult to see in. It can act like a curtain by blocking UV rays.

Outline for the Class in Plexiglas Painting- Teaching a unique and easy method that will satisfy all who try it, you will be amazed!

  •  First Choose a Theme or Abstract Pattern:

    With a Theme = Picture, Design, Lettering (+ or – ) a Pattern.

With an Abstract Pattern = Random Lines & Color.

  •  Then with Paint create Texture & Tint:

Texture = Depends on paint application: Thickness of paint, Brush type and other means of application such as using a Plastic knife or finger.  The layering of paint and/or scrapping off paint can also create a very unique appearance.

Tint = Thin or thick tints, poured or applied with brush. Various colors can be used – mixed prior to use or with layering of color over color.

  •  Thankfully you can Make Corrections after the paint has dried. You should also do Trial Views (viewing both with or without light shining through it).

Note that you can change design, color, or liners by scrapping or grinding the paint off and then mixing the flakes with new paint to increase opaqueness.  This unique technique can generate good contrast for trees and rocks.

The Finished Work can be transformed by creative use of layering, testing view on white paper, & then adding or subtracting color and texture. Below are examples of using clear textured paint to allow outside color to shine through.
